Ground was broken for Icelandair’s new headquarters in Hafnarfjörður on September 13, 2022. The facilities, which will be 5,000 square meters in size on three floors, will be connected to the company’s existing building, which houses a training center and a technical department. One of the shovels used in the ceremony outshone the others, as it is manufactured from aircraft parts with a titanium blade. Eykt will deliver the concrete shell and foundation of the building. Work has already started, and is scheduled to be completed in September 2023.
